Last weekend we met for a regular Russian Conversation group event to talk about Russian traditional cuisine.

I revived my old tried and trusted recipe for pies – пирожки – and made two varieties –  cabbage and mushroom ones.

Tatiana, our features Russian guest, cooked some wonderful meet dumplings – пельмени, and most importantly вареники – cottage cheese dumplings with home made soft cheese. They were so tasty and reminded me my granny’s cooking!
